About Timothy Christian School
The greatest task of Christian parents is teaching our children to know and love the Lord. Timothy Christian School (TCS) was founded near Wellsburg by a group of dedicated parents in 1941. Since then, TCS strives to come alongside Christian parents to provide God-centered courses for their children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The Timothy Society & School Board Organization
Representing eleven communities and over seven church denominations (including Reformed, Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Congregational, Methodist and others), TCS is not run by a specific church or denomination but instead, is governed by our parents through an organization called the Timothy Society for Christian Education. Seven school board members are elected from this group. We are a member of Christian Schools International and are rooted in the Reformed tradition. However, we are “interdenominational” in that families from all Bible believing churches are welcome.
Timothy Christian School is accredited through
the Iowa State Department of Education as a
non-public school. We are also accredited with C.S.I. (Christian Schools International) which allows us to
continue to choose our curriculum.
TCS reports annually to the state on student achievement, and all teachers are certified to
teach in their fields. Our accreditation also gives us
free access to the many services provided by our
local area education agency.
